EBS was Ireland’s largest building society until 2011 when AIB acquired it, and it subsequently was granted a banking license under the name EBS ltd. The bank, founded as Educational Building Society in 1935, has a long history in the country. With more than 400,000 customers and 74 branches, EBS d.a.c. is a well established financial actor in Ireland.
