About NatWest

NatWest, short form for National Westminster Bank, was founded in 1968 through the merger of two existing banks: National Provincial Bank and Westminster Bank. Today it is a large retail and commercial bank. In 2000 it was incorporated by the Royal Bank of Scotland Group.

With Lloyds Bank, HSBC and Barclays, the Royal Bank of Scotland Group is one of the so called ‘Big Four’ clearing banks of the UK. With over 1,400 branches and 3,400 cash machines all over Great Britain, the Group has one of the largest banking networks in the country, not to mention its 7.5 million personal customers and 850,000 small business accounts. Its Irish branch operates through Ulster Bank.

In 2016 NatWest was nominated for the ‘Best Business Banking Provider’ category at the British Bank Awards.
