American Express

Pay your bills and invoices online with your Amex American Express via Billhop

You can use your American Express card with Billhop in the same way as with normal purchases. Payments using American Express via Billhop also earns you bonus points (Membership Rewards).

It is worth noting that American Express does not usually impose credit limits on their cards. Instead, they look at spending patterns to assess the credit limit. This means that larger transactions through Billhop may initially be declined if they significantly deviate from your usual spending pattern.

In this case, we recommend that you contact American Express to let them know you intend to carry out a larger payment transaction through Billhop.

How can I pay my bills using AmEx on Billhop?

First of all, you need to register an account on our website. It is an automated process that will only take you a couple of minutes. Once you have created an account, you can start carrying out your transactions through Billhop.

To pay your bills with your AmEx – just like for any other payment on Billhop – you simply need to know:

  1. The bank details of your recipient (sort code and account number)
  2. The amount you would like to pay
  3. The reference you need to enter so that your payee can identify your transaction.

After that, you will enter the details of your AmEx, which will be processed according to the high security standards of the industry, and confirm your transaction. The funds will be received by your beneficiary after four business days.
